Welcome to the School Age Centre!
Our School Age Centre is located in the heart of the St. Lawrence Community Centre at 230 The Esplanade. It has a licensed capacity of 106 children aged 2 1/2 years to 13 (spaces permitting) years of age.
Our School Age Program
Our School Age program operates year-round and has a capacity for 48 children ages 30 months to 6 years. It operates between two preschool rooms. The Before and After School program can support 58 children, 68 months to 13 years of age. Children older than 10 years of age can be enrolled if enough spaces are available to support them (as per the Day Care Space Availability Agreement Form).
The Before and After School Program provides care on:
- Instructional Days:
- Before school 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and after school 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Day Care staff escort children to specific community schools.
- Non-Instructional Days:
- Full-time care is provided on PA Days, December Break, March Break and Summer Break.
Menu
The Centre provides one morning and one afternoon snack (a third snack for children in a full-day program) and a hot lunch. Yummy Catering provides the menu. A menu copy can be posted on a bulletin board by the kitchen. The Centre is a nut and pork-free Day Care. All allergies or food restrictions are discussed with the Supervisor and Catering Company to ensure accuracy in alternatives before a child’s enrollment.
