Welcome to the School Age Centre!
Our School Age Centre is located in the heart of the St. Lawrence Community Centre at 230 The Esplanade. It has a licensed capacity of 106 children aged 2 1/2 years to 13 years of age. To align with the Ministry of Education’s Child Care and Early Years Act, this centre is phasing out our school age offerings. Carefully read the current service offerings below.
Our Programs
Our Preschool Program operates year-round and has a capacity for 48 children ages 30 months to 4 years. It operates between two preschool rooms. Our Before and After School program currently supports 26 junior/senior kindergarten children from age 4 up until their 6th birthday.
The Before and After School Program provides care on:
- Instructional Days:
- Before school 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and after school 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Day Care staff escort children to and from specific community schools.
- Non-Instructional Days:
- Full-time care is provided on PA Days, December Break, March Break and Summer Break
Menu
The Centre provides one morning and one afternoon snack (a third snack for children in a full-day program) and a hot lunch. Yummy Catering creates our menu and provides all meals. A copy of the menu is posted on a bulletin board by the kitchen and classroom doors. The Centre is a nut and pork-free Day Care. All allergies or food restrictions are discussed with the Supervisor and Catering Company to ensure accuracy in alternatives before a child’s enrollment.
