Welcome to the Toddler/Preschool Centre!
Our Toddler/Preschool Centre is located at 2 Princess St. and has a capacity for 44 children from 18 months to 5 years old. The centre offers 2 toddler programs with a capacity for 20 toddlers (18 months to 2½ years) and 1 preschool room (2½ years to 5 years) with a capacity for 24.
There is always 1 adult to 5 Toddlers in the toddler rooms and 1 adult to 8 preschoolers for the preschool group.
SLCD's Toddler/Preschool Program
The teaching staff develops a weekly program plan based on their observations of children’s development, skills and interests; an outdoor plan accompanies this, promoting learning in our outdoor environment. Areas of learning include arts and crafts, sensory, drama, language, cognitive and manipulative, construction, science and nature and some food experiences.
Our program plans are posted and are always available for the parents to see.
Menu
The Centre provides one morning and two afternoon snacks and a hot lunch. Yummy Catering provides the menu. A menu copy can be posted on a bulletin board by the kitchen. The Centre is a nut and pork-free Day Care. All allergies or food restrictions are discussed with the Supervisor and Catering Company to ensure accuracy in alternatives prior to a child’s enrollment.
